Rain Rain Go away...

Well, the month of June has been a challenging one to say the least. Hugh tore his achiles tendon the end of May, had surgery in early June and is on crutches with various casts till the end of July. The same day Hugh was in surgery, we got a confirmed diagnosis of Celiac Disease for Gavin. (where you need to eat Gluten free) so life has been tough, challenging and hard to be honest! Not having Hugh to help do the simple things he normally does because of the wondeful dad he is has been hard! The Lawn, the trash, just getting a kid dressed are now all on me! We have had many people offer to help, don't get me wrong I am thankful and grateful...and on top of that it seems rain has just come to stay!!! Today at church a friend sang the song "Praise you in the storm" I"m sure many of you had heard of it, but it's a great song and was a reminder, that even in the "storms" of life, it's important to praise God because it's in those times we NEED HIM! It has been easy for me to get overwhelmed and frustrated with life's circumstances now, but I know that God is bigger then Celiac and Torn Achilles Tendons and I choose to praise HIM in this storm. I have a lot to look forward to next week, my best friend and her family are coming to visit, (6 kids between us all under one roof, how fun!!! ) and we are welcoming a brand new nephew into our family on Tuesday!!!! I"m so excited...!!
After the rain let up yesterday we just had plain old simple fun in the rain.. here are some photos.

Why they think it was fun to put their heads in puddles is beyond me..

Running through!

We wheeled Hugh around!

Yes, I"m aware she has no shorts on.. long story..

This was too priceless not to put in, and it's G -rated, no cheeks showing Although as I re-look at it, I think you can see a "stream" sorry! But when Nature calls w/ a 5 year old, nature calls!

Gav's room...

Well, this is kind of old, but for Gavin's 3rd Birthday we moved him to a big boy bed and decided to get bunk beds! With family and friends over we thought it would be a good idea and what kid doesn't want bunk beds??? The boys have had 2 sleepovers and have done well. We're having friends come in June so they will be together then! Can't wait by the way Cowells! Anyway.. here are some shots of his "big boy" room. Some of you know, this room was our nursery, so it was bittersweet painting over the animals I did on the walls... they grow up too fast!

I think I"m going to put up some pictures of him in his little baseball outfit or helmut above his bed, but have to get them screwed in or something as I don't want them falling when they are up there reading.

Yes, I"m aware my son's name is Gavin not G vin,but AC moore has been out of the letter A!!!

I had my eye on this bedspread from Pottery Barn kids for awhile, and thought nah, it's too expensive i"ll find something else, but never did. We only got one for now.. eventually we'll put one on top. You see kind of a roll thing under it, that is his bedrail.. where the bed is, and being a bunk bed I was having a hard time finding a bedrail that would fold down, but I found this and it's great.. it's inflatable so you can bring it with you when you travel!

My new camera...

Well, my little blogger friends (Hi MM !!) needed to know my about new toy! I basically upgraded my Canon Rebel to the Canon XsI - it's great! My "old" Canon was only 5 years old, but only 8 megapixals. So this is 12.2 with just a few more features, bigger view finder, wider lens, image stabalizer etc. I love it! By the way MM- we should get our crew together this summer!!! How crazy would that be- 7 kids! Email me! Well, Brayden has a T-ball game tonight and I need to get dinner going soon I guess in order to get us there on time.. Oh NC I hope you had fun in MB!!!! Love you guys!
